Course Description

Primary care physicians are increasingly managing patients with bipolar disorder due to limited access to psychiatric services. Layla®’s CME series supports clinicians in this evolving role by providing evidence-based guidance and practical tools for diagnosing, treating, and monitoring bipolar disorder in the community setting.

Enhance Diagnostic and Treatment Skills:

  • Participants will improve their ability to diagnose and manage bipolar disorder in teenagers within the primary care setting, applying evidence-based approaches to complex and common mental health conditions.

Optimize Psychiatric Medication Management:

  • Participants will apply evidence-based strategies for initiating, monitoring, and tapering psychiatric medications, including managing comorbidities and safely navigating medication transitions.

Incorporate Diverse Patient Perspectives:

  • Participants will learn to integrate diverse cultural and patient perspectives into the diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions and will be encouraged to share case studies that reflect the needs of diverse populations.

Improve Systems-Based Practice:

  • Participants will implement structured care pathways that promote coordination with psychiatrists for complex cases and utilize referral tools to optimize mental health outcomes in the community setting.
