This video describes the diagnostic strategy and differential diagnosis in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD). Physicians should be able to distinguish the Lyon 2.0 definition from the previous Montreal consensus definition. Physicians and specialists should be able to identify typical and atypical symptoms of GERD and determine the appropriate course of treatment using objective methods of symptom evaluation.
