The goal of this program is to equip clinicians with knowledge about the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in primary care. GERD represents a significant public health burden and is one of the most common conditions treated in primary care. <\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left\">GERD is a common condition that develops when the reflux of stomach contents causes troublesome symptoms (such as heartburn and regurgitation) and\/or complications (such as Barrett\u2019s esophagus, esophagitis, ulcer, and esophageal adenocarcinoma). Treatment for GERD aims to improve symptoms and reduce the risk of complications.
