Atopic dermatitis affects up to 10% of adults globally, with higher prevalence and severity among people with skin of colour. This is a critical consideration for Canada’s diverse patient population. Yet, many patients remain symptomatic despite topical prescription therapy, often due to suboptimal foundational skincare rather than inadequate pharmacotherapy. This case-based program equips primary care clinicians with practical strategies to optimize AD management through evidence-based adjunctive skincare, emphasizing the role of ceramide-containing formulations in restoring skin barrier function across diverse skin types.
