The prevalence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) increases with age, with individuals aged 65 and older accounting for more than half of all cardiovascular hospitalizations. As the leading cause of global mortality and a major contributor to poor quality of life, CVD poses significant challenges in older adults due to age-related changes in cardiovascular structure and function, as well as alterations in other organ systems. These factors elevate the risk of complications from both pharmacological and nonpharmacological interventions. Understanding the risk factors and strategies to manage CVD in older adults is crucial. This program will provide participants with essential information on assessing and managing CVD in older adults, with a focus on safe medication use.
