This 15-minute eCME program supports pharmacists in treating patients who present with an acute cough. Pharmacists will gain practical insights on how to assess acute cough symptoms in pharmacy practice, key characteristics of over-the-counter (OTC) cough medications, and how to counsel patients on treatment. 


This program has received financial support from Reckitt Benckiser Canada in the form of an unrestricted educational grant.

  • Explain the mechanism of action of expectorants, antitussives, and honey, and their role in managing acute cough.
  • Counsel patients effectively on cough management and the appropriate use of OTC cough products.
